Schools to conduct yoga classes, says CM

On Thursday, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi K. Palaniswamy said that as a part of their initiative to enhance skills and student abilities, yoga classes are to be imparted in schools all over Tamil Nadu.
All schools will henceforth conduct Yoga classes, he added. Soon, this program will get rolled out. Students will be given yoga training so as to enhance their overall skillsets and bring mental peace and physical strength, he added.
Addressing an event where appointment orders to teachers were given, he said so. The CM further stressed the point that his governance sticks to giving fillip to the education sector and mentioned all the initiatives taken so far for the same.
To over 2,315 Post Graduate teacher and 58 others, the CM had given out appointment orders, and added that teachers hold complete responsibility of shaping up the discipline aspects of children.
In the following academic year, syllabus for class 1 to 12 will be designed in such a way that they will be fully equipped to face competitive exams easily. Furthermore, the quality of education in rural areas will also be improved. Smarter classrooms will be provided, he added. For this, about Rs 60 crore will be spent, he pointed.
