The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University stands 7th according to the findings of Indian Council of Agricultural Research. These findings were results of the latest research work and effective administration.

Coming on to the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in Chennai, it has acquired the 10th place as per ICAR ranking. The overall performance of TNAU has got a lot better. The premier position of TANUVAS is lost to Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Lucknow which has got 9th position.

As per reports by the ICAR, on evaluating over 57 agricultural and animal sciences universities on 16th July 2017, the National Dairy Research Institute Karnal has acquired the top place. And the 2nd and 3rd places are with Agricultural Research Institute in Delhi, and Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana.

The Tamil Nadu Fisheries University Nagapattinam has acquired 34th place whereas the Venkateshwara University in Tirupati has got 40th place. Unfortunately, as a rude shock for the entire state of Kerala, no fisheries and agricultural university has acquired position within 10.

A jubilant vice chancellor K. Ramasamy, in his response to ICAR rankings, said, the university acquired position within 30th rank in various rankings 5 years ago. But things have got changed now.
