Great demand for admission to B. Com. And BBA Courses

During the present academic year, the trend of a large demand for admission to B. Com. and BBA courses from the boys. Among the girls, the demand for admission to B. A. (English Literature) is more.
It has been a trend since the last few years that the craze for admission to the engineering colleges has gradually reduced and the attention of the students is diverted to the Arts and Science Courses.
The Director for College Education, Professor J. Manjula, shared the information that there is an increasing demand among the students to join Arts and Science Courses. A large number of applications have been received for B. Com. Course.
Other courses in the preferred order of demand include B. A. (English Literature), BBA, B. Sc. (Mathematics), B. Sc. (Physics), and B. Sc. (Chemistry).
In cases where there is a large demand for a specific course, the colleges can seek permission from the universities to increase the number of seats for that course. In this procedure, a number of colleges have already sought and got the permission to increase the number of seats.
A Professor informed that in his college there are 2 types of B. Com. Courses offered – B. Com. (General) and B. Com. (Corporate Secretaryship). All the seats for both these courses got filled very quickly. There is also a great demand for B. Sc. Courses as well.
The former director of the department of job opportunities and training and an eminent academic consultant explained regarding the present great demand for Arts and Science Courses – especially, B. Com., BBA, and B. SC. (Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry) shared the information that the major companies in Information Technology conduct campus interviews in the Arts and Science Colleges also (As they do in Engineering Colleges/Universities) to recruit students for their companies. The selected B. Com. and BBA graduates are given training and then appointed in regular cadres.
The industrial and other sectors which want to reach an expertise in accounts look forward to appointing  B. Com. And BBA graduate students and hence there is a demand for these courses.
Academic consultant informed that in the present scenario, both the parents and students observe the increasing number of engineering graduates without jobs and the problems they have to encounter. This has naturally diverted their attention towards the Arts and Science Courses.
