A recent press release from the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE) states that from 3rd July 2019, engineering college counselling will begin.
Reports state that from 2nd May, online counselling registrations will begin and continue until 31st May. Following this, certificate verification will take place for all the aspirants who have got registered for the counselling with the Tamil Nadu Engineering college admissions.
On 17th June, rank list with complete details of cut-off marks will be rolled out.
Between 20th and 22nd June, special category admissions including students who are physically challenged, sports quota seats, etc. are to get filled. And for the other candidates, counselling will take place starting from 3rd July and continue until 28th July. There will be a supplementary counselling held on 29th July.
It is to be noted that the Vice Chancellor of Anna University, Mr. MK Surappa has got resigned from Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Committee. This has resulted in speculations about Anna University’s participation in engineering counselling.
After intervention by the state government, Anna University gave its nod to take part in the counselling whereas the same had been organized only by the university until previous year. The only Centre for counselling all the engineering admissions was solely Anna University until last year. From this year, 2019, the system is devastated and engineering counselling is set to take place at institution campus under DOTE.
TNEA 2019: Documents required during counselling
The candidates need to verify these following documents, Admit card, Prove of nationality, voters id card, Aadhaar id, NEET UG mark sheet, A copy of online application form, HSC (Class 12) mark sheet, SSC (Class 10) mark sheet, Health certificate at the time of online document verification process.
