No more arrear system in Engineering colleges

Anna University academic council has thus far been practicing arrear system in engineering courses. The council has now approved to replace this system with a new method of reappearance registration system starting from this academic year.
With this, students will be bound to take up the internal examination again. When a student fails in a particular semester exam, he can reappear for the exam when it is scheduled for the next time. Though attendance is not mandated, the student ought to redo the internal exam so as to appear for the semester exam with the current students, explains T.V. Geetha, the director of Academic Courses, Anna University.
Along with the new syllabus, there is also the introduction of Choice Based Credit System for affiliated engineering colleges.
With this, students enjoy a substantial change in engineering education where students will be able to skip 2 subjects from a semester, or they can even take up 2 subjects in advance as well.
Students need not rush up. They can study at their own speed. When they find it tough to study 2 difficult subjects of a semester, they can choose those for studying later. When bright students find it easier to study extra 2 subjects in a semester, they can take up extra subjects too. Once they are done with the entire credits beforehand, they can choose to take up full internship or the project works during the 8th semester.
