New fee structure for engineering courses

The committee headed by Justice N. V. Balasubramanian has announced that the fees for the engineering course for the academic year 2017-18 have been fixed.
The course fee structure for self-financed engineering colleges was fixed in the year 2012-13. Considering the repeated appeals from the private colleges, the fee structure for the B.E. or B. Tech. Course for the academic year 2017-18 is being revised under:
The annual fees for engineering courses (private colleges)
Government quota
  • B. E., B. Tech. (NPA approved) – Rs. 55000
  • B. E., B. Tech (Normal) – Rs. 50000
Administration quota
  • B. E., B. Tech. (NPA approved) – Rs. 87000
  • B. E., B. Tech (Normal) – Rs. 85000
With the last revision in fees done during 2012-13, the fee structure is being revised now after a gap of 5 years. This new fee structure will be valid for the next 3 years.
The fee covers the education fee, admission fee, special fee, laboratory fee, Computer, the Internet, Library, Sports, and Maintenance fee.
It is to be noted that the fees have gone up by Rs. 1000 for the government quota and by Rs. 17000 for the administration quota.
