Merit list for admission to veterinary medical courses to be released on 30th June

The Vice-Chancellor of the Tamil Nadu Veterinary medical science university, S. Thilakar, informed that the merit list for students` admission to the veterinary medical science and technology is scheduled to be released on 30th June.
An international seminar on medical treatments to small and large animals commenced on Thursday (22nd June) at the Namakkal Veterinary College and Research Centre.
This 2-day seminar was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the Tamil Nadu Veterinary medical science university, Mr. S. Thilakar.
There are 40 participants at international level in this seminar. 22 experts will be presenting papers on medical treatment, surgery, maternity, and other topics.
The seminar is presided by the Principal-in-charge of the Namakkal Veterinary College and Research Centre, Mr. G. Balasubramanian.
Chennai Veterinary College Principal S. Gunaseelan and Namakkal Golden Hospital Managing Director R. Kuzhandhaivel addressed in the inaugural session.
The seminar is bring organised with the efforts of the Veterinary Medical College Professor M. Selvaraj.
At the end of the seminar inaugural session, the Vice-Chancellor, Mr. S. Thilakar, has a session with the press reporters. There are 3 technical graduate courses and 1 medical graduate course making for a total of 4 graduate courses offered by the Tamil Nadu Veterinary medical science university.
23000 students have applied online for admission to the above courses this year.
Presently, the scrutiny of the received applications is in progress.
The merit list for admission is scheduled to be released on 30th June. The counselling session is scheduled for 3 days on 19th, 20th, and 21st July.
A total of 380 students will be admitted. There has been an increase in the number of applicants as compared to the previous year. There are no new courses planned to be introduced this year. No new colleges are to open. There will be no approval for any private colleges in this field.
There is a practice of emergency treatment administered to the animals with the emergency ambulance service. In case, mobile treatment is not possible, the animals will be brought to the hospital and given treatment.
There are 10 ambulances in service in Tamil Nadu for this in 5 districts including Namakkal. A C. T. scam facility is set to be introduced in the Namakkal veterinary hospital before the end of August.
