Marks system back in CBSE 10th exam

The system of marks and toppers will be back for the CBSE 10th Standard Public Examination from the current academic year.

Earlier, the system of conducting the Common Public Examinations for 10th Standard students was withdrawn and only interested students were allowed to write the same.

During 2011, the marks system was changed and grade system was implemented. Meanwhile, the central government insisted that the quality of learning in 10th Standard had come down due to the cancellation of the Public Examination and it must be restored. Further, the grading system is withdrawn and the marks system is back and the system of announcing the top 3 ranks is also back.

Accordingly, the Public Examinations were conducted this academic year for all the 10th Standard students. Rank list will be prepared.

Incidentally, the results of 10th Standard Public Examinations released yesterday was on the grading basis. This will stop and the marks system will be restored henceforth.
