The general counselling session for the available 1.66 Lakhs seats for engineering courses in all the colleges affiliated to Anna University commenced today (Sunday, 23rd July).

Special arrangements have been made for this event in the Anna University complex.

Students are offered to join engineering courses this academic year with 1.66 Lakhs seats available in the 553 engineering colleges affiliated to Anna University.

The counselling for the courses started on 17th July. The counselling and the admission of students in the industry sector, sports sector, and differently-abled candidates has been completed. In these sessions, 2000 seats got filled.

The general counselling for the other cadres commenced today (23rd July) for filling up the balance 1.66 Lakhs seats. The candidates have been invited to participate in the counselling on the basis of their cut-off marks.

This counselling is scheduled for 23rd July to 11th August. Concessions are being offered on the bus fare for the candidate accompanied by another person coming from outstations to participate in the counselling. In case they arrive earlier by a day ahead, arrangements have been made for free lodging in the hostel in Anna University complex.

Special arrangements made for this counselling include medical check-up centres, canteens, bank counters for payment of the counselling fees, enquiry counters by the banks regarding education loan, government assistance information centre, Amma drinking water centre, and enquiry centres for other requirements.

A big hall has been arranged for the candidates waiting for counselling. 4 giant digital screens have been set up in the hall. The details regarding the vacant seats will be screened direct from the internet.

In case the candidates are interested in adding some more information on their personal details, they are advised to come 2 hours in advance of the time indicated in the invitation letter and undertake the activity.
