Classes for MBBS freshers in government colleges to start today

The classes for MBBS, BDS freshers, who join in government medical colleges is set to start today (Monday, 4th September).
The dress and behaviour codes have been informed to the students by the Indian Medical Council.
The Director of Medical Education (DME), Edwin Joe, explained that the classes for the 1st year MBBS course are starting today, 4th September. In the districts where today has been declared as a holiday on the occasion of Onam festival, classes will commence later. The government dental colleges are scheduled to reopen on on 10th September.
The students should not wear casual dresses such as T-shirts, jeans, and sleeveless tops. The girl students must wear only saris/salwar-kameez/churidars. They must not wear leggings. The boys must wear pants and shirts with shirts tucked inside the pants. They must wear shoe. The students must not use the cell phone during the classes.
All the above information has been passed to all the colleges. Separate teams will be formed to prevent ragging in the colleges. Stringent immediate action will be taken on the senior students who indulge in ragging activities.
