The sales/distribution of the application forms for admission to the medical courses MBBS and BDS commenced in the medical colleges yesterday (Tuesday, 27th June). 8379 applications got sold on the 1st day itself.
The application form sales/distribution commenced in the 22 government and private medical and dental colleges yesterday at 10 AM for admission to the medical/dental courses for the academic year 2017-18.
In Chennai Metro City, the applications were sold/distributed at the Chennai Government Medical College, Kilpauk Government Medical College, Government Stanley Medical College, and the Chennai Omandurar Medical College started with the candidates arriving with their parents and the DD.
As some of the candidates had not brought the DD, there were long queues seen in the banks. The distribution of application forms will be done until 7th July from 10 AM to 5 PM including all Sundays.
The filled application forms can be submitted either in person or by post addressed to the Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, 162, EVR High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai – 600010 before 5 PM on 8th July.
The rank list is scheduled to be released on 14th July. The counselling is scheduled to commence on 17th July.
The Secretary of the Student Admission Selection Committee Selvaraj, informed that 6542 applications have been sold on the 1st day itself for the government quota in both government and private medical colleges. 1837 applications were sold on the 1st day under the administration quota of the private medical colleges. So, a total of 8379 applications got sold on the 1st day itself. A total of 35000 application forms has been printed.
