The 2nd Phase of counselling for medical courses in the seats available in medical colleges throughout India and the deemed universities is scheduled to commence today (Saturday, 5th August).
There is a reservation for 15% of the seats for MBBS and BDS courses for All India Quota in all the government medical colleges throughout India.
Accordingly, the 1st Phase of counselling was conducted for 4100 seats for MBBS and BDS courses on 13th and 14th July. After this 1st Phase counselling, there is a balance of 2660 seats for medical courses.
There are 9661 seats available for medical courses in the deemed universities. Out of this, 8801 candidates have got seats during the 1st Phase counselling.
There are 354 seats reserved for the ESI employees in the ESI Medical Colleges. Out of this quota, 326 candidates got seats in the 1st Phase of counselling.
The 2nd Phase of online counselling for filling up the balance seats commences today (5th August) and concludes on 7th August. The candidates participating in this counselling session have to join the medical colleges between 9th August and 16th August.
The balance seats will be allotted to the state government quota after 5.00 PM on 16th August.
