2nd Phase counselling for admission to postgraduate medical courses from today (24th May)

The 2nd Phase of counselling for admission to the postgraduate medical courses commences today (Wednesday, 24th May) and concludes on 27th May.
There are 21 government medical colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu. Out of this, only 13 colleges offer post graduation medical courses.
Keeping aside the quota of 50 percent for All India allotment, there are 562 seats available as the state government quota for M.D. and M. S. courses and 200 seats for the postgraduate diploma course.
There is a quota of 19 seats available for the Tamil Nadu state government for admission to the postgraduate dental course in the Tamil Nadu government dental college located in Chennai after considering the All India quota of 50 percent.
The 1st Phase of counselling for admission to the postgraduate medical courses for the academic year 2017-18 was conducted from 8th May to 11th May. After the counselling, 40 seats remained unfilled for the postgraduate and postgraduate diploma courses and 2 seats were unfilled for the admission to the postgraduate dental courses.
Subsequently, the counselling for admission to postgraduate medical courses in the deemed universities was conducted from 18th May to 20th May. 451 seats were filled during this counselling session. 153 seats remain unfilled.
During the counselling for admission to postgraduate medical courses in 9 private medical colleges was conducted from 22nf May to 23rd May for the administration quota of 73 seats. 50 seats were filled. 23 seats remain unfilled.
With this present situation, the 2nd Phase of counselling for admission to the postgraduate medical course is scheduled to start today (Wednesday, 24th May) and conclude on 27th May. During this counselling session, the 40 seats remaining in the government medical colleges and the remaining government quota in the private medical colleges and Annamalai University are to be filled up.
